LABOR UNIONS RESULT IN UNIFORMITY

by Mr. Mean-Spirited

There is a reason why you are always miserable at your job. There is an obvious reason why you feel wretched at work. And that explanation is labor unions. Look here, things are pitiful in the office not as the result of a tyrannical boss, but because unions enforce a type of totalitarianism at the workplace.

Unions do not ensure that employees are treated right, but guarantee that workers will behave right. Labor unions do not create fair rules, but more rules. Workplace organizing does not promise safety, but sameness. Unions assure obedient workers. Collective bargaining does not contribute to higher wages, but compels an individual be part of a collective in order to receive wages. The reason why employment is so unpleasant is because of labor unions.

Unions enforce conformity. Organized workers are servile workers. Labor unions do not end up with well-paid workers, but well-behaved laborers. The only result of collective action is submissive activity. Unions are not just an enticement for incompetence but also an enforcer of compliance.

There is a reason why established politicians always secure the support of labor unions. An obedient worker becomes an obedient citizen. A docile laborer who does what he is told on the job does what he is told by the media when he is back home. Unions turn wage slaves into deferential citizens who accept their servitude.

Union membership cards are the contemporary equivalent of shackles on the limbs of a slave.

  1. Your worst ever, Mr. Mean. Do you support repealing child labor laws? I mean, a little work never hurt anyone, right? And it just might build a little character in the spoiled little buggers...Please correct me if I am misreading you. God, I hope you are not some neo-con Tea Bagger. If you are, I would advise you keeping VERY quiet about your antinatalism around them! At any rate...peace.

    1. Even though the blog post has nothing whatsoever to do with child labor, and although irrelevant to the topic of collective representation, your question deserves an answer. I would rather that children not be employed at anything – not for any concern about their welfare, but for reasons of competence.

And, no, I am not some fucking neo-con either. I just hate anything collective.

  2. How did this come down to child labor? That's what child labor laws are supposed to be for, not unions. And where there are none, children are slaves, as are the adults. While the heel of capitalism is on the workers' throats, I have no issue with people organizing in an attempt to ease their plight. Not that it will really change anything, because union bosses end up compromising for their own benefit ie. If you can't be a company VP, head a union for a comfy-cozy Quisling lifestyle.

Fuck. Why do I bother talking about this shit anyways? People are shit. It's people that fuck everything up. I just want out.

  3. Who cares about unions when the whole system is fucked? I don't think unions are any more or less evil than any other capitalistic entity that leads to indentured servitude.

  4. Here in the SE USA there are no unions really and workplaces are still pretty miserable.Between right to work laws and Reagan's destruction of the labor movement over 30 yrs ago Labor Unions are pretty much a dead letter. Dima Sokol is of course right about the whole system being fubared in general.
